Suzette has always had an interest in unique expression of personal style. This has developed into her career in hair design & body waxing. When she was fourteen, her first job as a shampoo girl sparked an interest in the industry, which led to her specializing in body waxing five years later. After pursuing different jobs for many years, she had her homecoming in the ambitions she had all along. With twelve years of body waxing experience & almost four as a hair designer, Suzette is excited to be apart of the Onyx Design Team.
- What is your favorite thing about being a hair designer?
My favorite thing about being a hair designer is the artistry and creativity in this industry, plus, the ability to make a difference in someone's life. It's remarkable how you feel when you look your best, you project that attitude of excellence, therefore others treat you differently.
- What products could you not live without?
The products that I couldn't live without are Wired, as a versatile sculptor for various hair types, Lusterizer, for shine, manageability and softness, and Being Undressed, also for shine and that finishing texture and separation. My clients love the Rusk line as much as I do for it's effectiveness in maintaining their chosen look and style.
- What would you say is your best strength as a hair designer?
My best strength in being a designer is the respect that I have for my clients’ wants and needs. Too many times, not only in the salon atmosphere but in life as well, our opinions are not heard. It is my heartfelt desire to listen and follow through with the best of what I have to offer to people. I specialize in curly hair, men's cuts and body waxing but without the ability to truly listen I wouldn't be able to satisfy my client's desires.
- What is your favorite thing about working with the Onyx Design Team?
My favorite thing about working with the Onyx design team is that we respect each other. We all have passion for our salon, our chosen career and for our unified success. The fact that we are friends only solidifies the commitment we have.
- How would you say Onyx is different from other salons?
Onyx is different from other salons by the level of service, skill & comraderie we promote. We are all committed to bringing an inspiring place to the Valley, where our priority is a stimulating & satisfying experience.
