Emily Beckner

Emily has always been intrigued with hair design and possesses a natural talent for styling hair.  When she was ready to pursue her education in this field, she looked at different options to ensure she received the best education and experience.  After her initial interview, she knew Onyx would be a great fit for her.  She has enjoyed learning the Rusk techniques that can be customized to each of her clients. 

What is your favorite thing about doing hair?
I enjoy listening and finding out what the client’s goal is and being able to use my creative, artsy-side to transform their vision into a look that blends perfectly with their personality and lifestyle.

What Hair care products could you not live without?
Rusk Mousse for volume, body and control. I also like it’s lightness so it won’t weigh down your hair.  I love the “Being” line, especially Being Gutsy for texture and definition.  I also like Being Undressed, a finishing product that shines, texturizes and conditions to polish off your look!

What would you say your best strength is as a hair designer?
I am all about detail.  My best strength is being precise with hearing what the client is looking for, and in delivering precision hair cuts and color application. 

What is your favorite thing about working with the Onyx design team?
I love the way each team member demonstrates an attitude of helpfulness.  Everyone is free to observe other designers and inquire about different techniques.  There is a constant flow of education happening all around us. 

How would you say Onyx is different from other Salons?
From the moment you walk in the door, you can sense an overall upbeat spirit.  The goal of the Onyx team is to ensure every client walks out looking great with the confidence to recreate their style using top-of-the-line tools and products.
