Dajana Kvakić

Dajana started taking an interest in hair in high school when she resorted to cutting and coloring her own hair after too many bad salon experiences. She started her internship at Onyx in 2008 when she was a senior. She loves going to hair shows and expanding her hair knowledge. Her specialties are corrective cuts, every kind of bob imaginable, and creating beautiful color with perfectly blended highlights. The longer she does hair, the more she loves it. Dajana loves that the career she chose is one where she can constantly learn and grow.




What is your favorite thing about being a hair designer?
Being able to change the way someone sees themselves. Creating something beautiful and changing the way they think about their hair. Great hair can transform a person’s confidence and I love being able to provide that. It’s so rewarding when people say they’ve never seen their hair look so good and can’t stop looking in the mirror and running their hands through it.




What hair care products could you not live without?
 Wired is the best for pliable control and it works with absolutely every hair texture. Also, Being Gutsy because it creates the biggest hair with amazing texture!




What would you say your best strength is as a hair designer?
 I ask a lot of questions during consultations and make sure to have a clear picture in my head of the hair you want. I stay on top of education and have a deep understanding of the Rusk products so I can remedy any hair problem! Every one of my clients gets educated on the right products and tools to make their hair fabulous at home because no matter how great a cut is, it won’t look good if you don’t know how to style it yourself!




What is your favorite thing about working with the Onyx Design Team?
Even though we all have the same education, everyone uses it differently and everyone has a unique approach to hair. It’s a lot of fun to bounce ideas off of each other!




How would you say Onyx is different from other salons?
 We put emphasis on continued education which is the most important thing when it comes to staying on top of the latest styles!




Why do you personally prefer Rusk and in your own words, why do you feel it is the ultimate hair company?
They provide the education and tools to not just do hair, but to expand your style as a designer. Rusk products are made with the best ingredients and there is always a product or cocktail of products to suit any hair type- be it limp & fine or thick & difficult…and everything in between!
